As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, there is no better time to take advantage of the radiant outdoors. At PETstock we encourage our employees, families and friends to get involved with Fit for the Future, a PETstock program dedicated to inspiring a holistic approach to health and well being.  Being regularly active in your everyday life is important for boosting health, both physically and mentally. Here are our fit and fun tips to get active with your pooch this summer.

  1. Explore

Victoria is a one-of-a-kind region, renowned for beautiful country side and rugged coastlines.  Plan a day to head into the mountains for a hike, enjoy a coastline walk or forest adventure. You and your buddy will relish in experiencing the new scenery, smells and spending time in nature.

  1. Backyard soccer

Why not switch up the old ‘throw and catch’ with a game of backyard soccer. Kicking around a ball can be a fun game for the whole family to get involved in. Nerf Dog have a great range of durable soccer balls that stand up to extended chewing which you can check out here.

  1. Beach day

Enjoy the feeling of sand in your toes (or paws) with a day at the beach. Whether your dog loves to swim or prefers to roll in the sand, the beach is a great way for you both to get active on a summer’s day. Make sure to bring along plenty of fresh water to keep you and your buddy hydrated in the heat. These cooling mats are sure to keep your pet cool when they are ready for a rest from all that beach activity!

  1. Morning jog

If the weather is expected to be sweltering hot, get out for a walk, jog or run early in the morning before the sun is out in full force. This will help you feel awake and energized, ready to take on the day. Your four-legged friend will also appreciate the exercise and stimulation.  At PETstock we have a great range of collars, harnesses and leads for every occasion – available online here.

  1. Dog yoga

Whether you stay indoors or head to a park, practicing yoga is a wonderful workout for both mind and body. Benefits include improving flexibility, posture, blood flow and breathing. Involving your pet in your workout makes for great bonding time with your furry friend.

Fit for the Future is PETstock’s health and wellbeing program, dedicated to empowering and inspiring employees, families and furry friends to be the best version of themselves and live a well-balanced life.
