MIX UP TRAINING LOCATION

By Julian Spence: 4 time winner of Great Ocean Road Marathon and Co-owner of The Running Company Ballarat

This week, Julian Spence from the Running Company Ballarat spoke about some of the beautiful trails and run locations on offer. Whilst Lake Wendouree is undoubtebly our city’s favourite track, mixing up your train location will give you an opportunity to see areas of our region at close range.

Exploring Ballarat’s beautiful streets & parks.

Now into week 4 of our events 8 week training program, below is Julians advice for this week.

“Yep, Lake Wendouree is a beautiful place to run or walk. The 6km gentle surface is convenient, social and safe. But if you’re feeling like you’re seeing the same thing every day, Ballarat has some amazing running locations. Head out to Canadian Forest, the Yarrowee Creek Trail or Nerrina for bush trails, or mix up your urban scenery with a loop of the 5km Vic Park track.”

The Running Co. Ballarat also holds a Run Club every Wednesday evening, meeting at 5:45pm for 6:00pm departure.
